Réalisé d’après Silk Stockings de Rouben Mamoulian, le montage WOOL STOCKINGS inverse le flux de la chorégraphie de la séquence où Ninotchka (Cyd Charisse) revît pour la première fois dans une chambre d'hôtel une paire de bas de soie.
Tout en interrogeant l’évolution de l’émancipation féminine dans la société contemporaine, le déshabillage impossible qui en résulte magnifie le personnage et exalte sa transformation par l’amour.

Realized after Rouben Mamoulian’s Silk Stockings, WOOL STOCKINGS inverts the flow of the filmic choreography where Ninotchka dresses for the first time silk stocking.
While questioning the evolution of feminine emancipation, the impossible undressing which results from this manipulation glorify the film character and emphasizes her transformation by love.
